Separate ranges with commas. Use 8- for page 8 to the end.
1 gives one PDF per page. 10 gives files of 10 pages each, with a shorter last file if needed.
Click ✂ Cut after under any page to start a new file after it. Each part gets its own colour below.
Colours show which file each page goes into. Click a page to preview it full-size.
This is a free, browser-based PDF splitter. It cuts one PDF into several smaller PDFs — by page ranges, every N pages, or at split points you choose — and lets you download each part or all of them as a ZIP. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
Each method suits a different job. Here's how to choose:
| Method | Best when | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Custom ranges | You know the exact pages, such as chapters or sections | 1-4, 5-9, 10- |
| Every N pages | You want equal-sized chunks, or one file per page | N = 1, or N = 10 |
| Pick split points | It's easier to see where each document starts | Cut after pages 3 and 8 |
| Combine ranges into one PDF | You want to extract certain pages into a single new file | 2, 5-7 |
Add your PDF, choose a split method — custom page ranges, every N pages, or visual split points — then click Split PDF and download the parts. It all happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Yes. It's completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how many PDFs you split.
No. Your file is read and split directly in your browser, and never leaves your device.
Yes. Choose Every N pages and set N to 1 to get one PDF for every page, then download them all as a ZIP.
Yes. In Custom ranges, type the pages you want, such as 2, 5-7, and tick Combine all ranges into one PDF. You'll get a single new PDF containing just those pages.
When a split creates more than one PDF, a Download all as ZIP button bundles every part into a single download. You can also save each part individually.
No. Pages are copied into the new files as they are, without re-rendering, so images keep their quality and text stays selectable and searchable.
Each part is named after your original file plus its pages, for example report_pages_1-3.pdf, so you can tell them apart at a glance.
No. Password-protected PDFs can't be read by this tool. Remove the password in the app that created the file, then add it here.
Page content, images, links and rotation carry over. Bookmarks (the outline panel) are not kept, and interactive form fields may stop being fillable.
